ALHOHA!!!
Today was a dream come true! We got up and had breakfast! We had huge portions of food. Some of us enjoyed stuffed french toast, others enjoyed banana macadamia pancakes! The servers are really nice. We then headed to the beach. It was a nice walk through Waikiki. Once we got to the beach we were divided into two groups. One group went surfing first and the others had free time to play with the soccer, football and volleyballs. Most of the girls took pictures on the beach, typical.
The beach was beautiful, and the water was sooo blue! You could see through the water clear to the reef! It is the most beautiful beach I have seen! We had our surf lessons next. We had to paddle out to the waves. It was a little difficult to get out there but once we got out there it was amazing. We lined up and each caught a wave! We all stood up and caught a wave! We actually were surfing! We had some free time for lunch. A lot of us got Subway or steak, rice and beef! YUM!
Later we had a chance to go on a catamaran. It was indescribable. We got to listen to music and lay out on the nets of the boat. The water was so blue, and we still couldn’t believe it! We got the chance to snorkel! Some of us even saw sea turtles! We got to swim with the sea turtles! There were tons of fish as well! We got to take pictures with the captain of the boat. Unfortunately we had to go back to shore. The time went by too fast. We had free time to go back to the hotel and enjoy the shops along Waikiki. There was a parade going on so some of us stopped to watch. A few of us stayed out to check out the sunset as well. Wow, the colors of the sunset were so bright and vibrant. It looked like fire!
Then we met at the hotel to walk to dinner. We headed out to California Pizza Kitchen. We got lots of pizza! Hawaiian, Pepperoni and Margarita. YUM! Our little brownies for dessert were perfect size. We had fun talking with each other exchange students on the trip. It was a good chance to mingle. After dinner some of us went to check out the night sky. It was so nice to see all the stars. Some of us stopped at the International market place to find some souvenirs!
What an amazing first day we had! It feels so good to be in Hawaii! We are excited about our long day out on the island tomorrow!
